Eating at Trattoria is a quintessential Palermo experience. It was on my list of must-do's in Palermo and it 100% delivered :) Food was excellent - the best caponata I have had in Palermo (by far). I also had a delicious Spaghetti Al Nero Di Seppia. Wine was great and I finished off with a delicious home-made Amaro. The most memorable part was the chat I got to have with the owner at the end of my meal, as he explained to me that the Corona family have owned the restaurant for 75 years; he showed me the premises next door that the restaurant used to operate out of (his Nonni used to lived in the current building that the restaurant now occupies). It was really clear to see how much this restaurant means to the Corona family and how important it is to Borgo Vecchio & Palermo. His young son was also present in the Restaurant, so perhaps this restaurant will continue to be an important part of another generation or Corona. 100% recommend everyone going to Palermo to visit Trattoria Piccolo Napoli.
Visited this restaurant after seeing it on Anthony Bourdain’s, no reservations. We were not disappointed. The seafood was fresh, and the food tasty. A family run affair. Highly recommend a visit when in Palermo.
Cozy trattoria, quiet on a Monday night, not very busy that day. We enjoyed the food, wine and service. The Caponata was the best I’ve tried in Sicilia. The mussels were perfect, the pasta was authentic Italian and the house wine was great. The fish of the day was the only disappointment, it is 70 Euros per Kg but in my opinion overpriced and it was “OK”, It is only baked fish without any side vegetables or carbs. Everything else was delicious and the staff friendly.
We had a wonderful dinner at Trattoria Piccolo Napoli last night. The owner customized the menu so we enjoyed a wide range of dishes including mussles, artichokes, black ink squid pasta, two swordfish dishes, and a delicious deconstructed cannoli. This family-run restaurant is casual and reasonably priced. The servers were very friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful evening with great food and delicious scicilian wine. We would definitely would go back.
The food was perfect, and the host was super friendly. There isn’t a single thing to complain about the spot, they’ve done everything well. It has a feel of being invited into a Sicilian house and being cooked for as a family.
This is one of the best meals i had in Palermo!! I was lucky enough to get a solo table outside with nobody around and truly enjoyed my food and wine. Service is amazing, the staff is very helpful and even gave me some great suggestions for the night. 10/10 a must
As we arrived it was empty. Instead of being scared my knowledge in live have brought me two sceneries: Or this restaurant is too bad or we are the luckiest to have one chef and all the attention just for us. And it was the second!!! The city center is full of tourist and even thought we have eaten in very fine restaurants before, I consider this restaurant as the best choice! The food was very good (amazing really fresh fish and see food) but much more than this, the experience to be there and know this lovely people and his particular history was something amazing.
